About the founder Denorval Parks who is also the author of several books offered on this site. He is a gifted individual in many ways. He wrote the book “SHELTERED” as a form of therapy and hopes to help others who have a hard time dealing with the pressures of life. He is the loving father of three young men he raised as infants and is learning how to handle the ups and downs of life along the way. He is extremely concerned about the future of our youth in America (and the world!) and hopes that this book can somehow help them to cope with the turmoil that they struggle with daily, as he himself continues to be a student, using what he finds that works and doesn’t work in order to continue to keep him afloat and hopes it may work for others as well. His concern is to make a difference in our ailing world.
What follows is a brief overview of the book entitled Sheltered, which is a tell all journal depicting a single father raising his three sons in a New York City shelter. DeNorval Parks uniquely details his journey through the “system,” while raising his three sons. There were crucial, blatant moments where DeNorval fought a system that was determined to annihilate him and prevent his children from advancing in society and ultimately the world that we live in.
This book reveals the reality of living and coping with being homeless and yet surviving the harsh and sometimes the “cruelty” at the hands of the government. In the book, you will read how one man and his children made it out of “the system,” and the lessons they learned that will never be forgotten. Do not be mistaken, the facts in this book are true. The author holds back nothing as he describes how he took on a government system deemed to hold him back, as well as his children. This book will also reveal how his courage battle won him and his children freedom.
“Sheltered” will no doubt open your eyes to the reality of this so-called “justice system” that we live in, while teaching you how to cope with the system should you unfortunately become a victim of society and find yourself in a New York City Shelter for the homeless.
